The new Top-Level-Domains (TLDs)

New domain extensions allow you to register unique and memorable domains. Obtain a distinctive domain that fits your business, region, or product, for example .app, .berlin, or .shop.

In the past, you could register your domains only with a few generic top-level domains such as .com and .info, as well as the standard country-TLDs (.de, fr, .ch, etc.). During the registration window (until April 2012), nearly 2000 applications for new TLDs were submitted. Several hundred of them are already available, including TLDs like .web, .shop, .berlin or .app. Another introductory phase is being discussed by ICANN; however, it is not yet decided when it will come.

You won't miss anything with the Domain Bookmarking Function

You can book domain registrations under many new TLDs, for which launch times, conditions, and prices are set, in our domain portal beauftragen. Domains under possible new TLDs can be saved in the domain portal using the "Bookmark"-function: simply search for domains that interest you and add them to the bookmarks list. We will then inform you per email if a bookmarked domain becomes available.

Protect your Trademarks

Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) - Official AgentWe have created a central database for domain trademark rights called the "Trademark Clearinghouse" (TMCH) so that you don't have to resubmit your trademark for each new TLD. We are accredited as a so-called "TMCH Agent" so that we can submit your trademark names, meaning you do not have to deal directly with the TMCH.

There are three key benefits of having your trademark submitted to TMCH:

  1. You only have to submit information about your trademark once and it can be used for all sunrise-phases of future TLDs.
  2. If someone attempts to register identical domains under any new TLD of your trademark, they will be informed before the registration. They then have to sign a statement that they have taken note of your trademark. Thus, the registrant cannot claim later on that he did not know about your trademark. This will make dispute resolution processes a lot easier.
  3. As a trademark owner, you will be notified when someone uses your trademark for domain registration. You can then consider whether to act against this domain registration.

Each time a new TLD is introduced, there is a risk of trademark misuse, whether the TLD is interesting to you or not. Therefore, we consider the TMCH registration a sensible investment for all trademark owners, as you will save yourself trouble and litigations in the future. As soon as you want to submit the first domain in one of the sunrise-phases, you won't get past the TMCH-registration anyway. You can register the data of your trademark for 1, 3 or 5 years. The net price (plus VAT, if applicable) is as follows:

  • 1 year: € 195,–
  • 3 year: € 515,– (automatic extension after 3 years)
  • 5 year: € 845,– (automatic extension after 5 years)

We would not recommend paying for only 1 year, as there is no automatic extension available and the cost of permanent protection is very high. Only the 3- and 5-year plans will extend automatically unless you are canceling them in advance. Even if you only register your trademark for the duration of the sunrise-phases at TMCH, you should choose at least the 3-year variant. If you wish to register your trademark with the TMCH, please fill in the contact form. Before the submission to the TMCH, we will review your details, conduct a trademark search and contact you if there are any queries or inconsistencies with the data available online. If you have several identical trademarks at different patent offices, you should preferably use WIPO or EU CTMs. If you have both image and word trademarks, word trademarks are to be preferred. Older trademarks should be preferred to younger ones. We have our own portal for lawyers/registrators. If you are interested, please contact us.
